For nearly 60 years, I have proudly called Antioch home. It has
been my honor to serve our community as Mayor, City Councilmember,
School Board Trustee, and lifelong advocate for children and families.
I am grateful to have been recognized as a Contra Costa County
Women’s Commission Woman of the Year and to have received the City
of Antioch’s Lifetime Achievement Award. One of my greatest honors
is having the YMCA dedicate its Antioch Child Development Center
in my name.
Today, Antioch Unified School District faces important challenges,
including maintaining fiscal responsibility, strengthening support
for Special Education and English Language Learners, and ensuring
safe, positive learning environments on every campus.
My experience in developing balanced budgets and making responsible
financial decisions will help ensure that district resources are used
effectively to meet the needs of all students while protecting the
district’s long-term financial stability.
California’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) provides funding
to support student success, particularly for underserved learners.
Strong communication with parents and families is essential, and every
decision should be guided by what is best for students.
I remain committed to transparency, accountability, academic excellence,
and working collaboratively with families, staff, and the community to
prepare every student for a successful future.
I respectfully ask for your support.
